Our CVG substrate follows an age old 50/50 recipe of coconut coir and vermiculite with a touch of gypsum. We hydrate the blend to proper field capacity and pasteurize for 90 minutes @ 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Its ready to use out of the bag, just add your colonized grain spawn of choice.
Benefits of CVG substrates compared to manure include a longer shelf life (6+ months), no foul smells, and an overall lower risk for contamination. CVG substrates are great for beginners and seasoned growers alike.
We use coconut coir that is washed and buffered from the manufacturer to ensure there are no excess salts and the pH isn't overly acidic. This is the same base of ingredients we use in our manure based substrate without the manure. Expect great results using our CVG blend!
